So, What's the Latest?
We've had little to no information to answer that question over the last six years. Thankfully, we're at the point of our journey where we actually have a response to offer. Since receiving our referral with the first glimpse of Jenna on November 27, we've been working (which mostly involves waiting) toward processing the necessary paperwork to receive Travel Approval from the Chinese Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption(CCCWA). The last piece of paperwork will be picked up from the American Consulate in Guangzhou on February 7 and then it will move on to the CCCWA to await Travel Approval. It has been taking approximately 2 weeks for Travel Approvals to be processed once the CCCWA receives the last bit of paperwork, but the CCCWA along with all Chinese government offices is closed the second week of February in observance of Chinese New Year, so that will cause a bit of delay. Once we receive Travel Approval we will work with our agency to set up a Consulate Appointment. Upon securing a Consulate Appointment, we will then know our travel dates. I expect we'll travel the end of March, but I've learned through this journey to resist hanging my hopes on a particular date. So, that's the latest. :~) We'd appreciate prayers for this sweet girl to have a smooth transition into our family. Everything about her little world is going to change.
